The Service Was Over, But the Holy Spirit Wasn't Finished!

During a Sunday service at Today's Church in Winnipeg, I shared how God had been moving throughout my 2026 ministry journey across Canada and the United States. But what happened after the service was just as wonderful! People came for prayer, a young woman received the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and another woman experienced God's presence as we prayed for revival in the city.

The Service Was Over, But the Holy Spirit Wasn't Finished!

August 2026 | Today's Church, Winnipeg, Manitoba

During my 2026 Across Canada Miracle Ministry Journey, I spent four wonderful days in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Originally, I was only planning to stay one night, but that turned into four days! Praise God! I was given the opportunity to share a short testimony about my travels and what the Lord had been doing across Canada and the United States during a Sunday service at Today's Church. I was so grateful for the invitation.

Encouraging Others to Step Out in Faith

When the pastor introduced me, I shared some of the wonderful things I had witnessed throughout my ministry journey. People receiving salvation, healing, deliverance, and the baptism in the Holy Spirit. I also encouraged the congregation to step out in faith and be available for the opportunities God places before them.

You don't have to be a travelling minister to share Jesus with someone. Wherever you are, there are people who need encouragement, prayer, and the love of God. I shared how the Lord had been opening doors for ministry in the most unexpected places. Sometimes in a park, sometimes on a busy street corner, and sometimes through a conversation with someone I had never met before.

The congregation received the testimony warmly. I was also encouraged when the pastor welcomed me to get in touch the next time I was in Winnipeg about a possible preaching opportunity. Praise God for open doors!

The Service Ended, But Ministry Continued!

Afterward, the pastor preached a wonderful message about receiving revelation from God's Word. When the service finished, there wasn't an altar call. People began gathering their belongings, talking together, and getting ready to leave. But I wasn't quite ready to go!

As I looked around, I found myself connecting with different people, and the Holy Spirit began opening opportunities for prayer. One young woman saw me and immediately came over and gave me a hug. She thanked me for coming, and I was so encouraged by her warmth. Then I met a young man who wanted prayer for his family. We talked, and I prayed with him for the needs that were on his heart.

A Young Woman Receives the Baptism of the Holy Spirit!

Another young woman wanted to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues. What a wonderful opportunity! I began ministering to her, encouraging her about the power of the Holy Spirit and what Jesus has made available to every believer on the Day of Pentecost. Then we prayed together.

And praise God, she received the baptism in the Holy Spirit and began speaking in tongues!

Just think about that! The church service was already finished. People were getting ready to leave, but here was someone hungry to receive more of God. I'm so grateful that I didn't simply walk out the door.

Praying for Revival in Winnipeg

The last person I prayed with was an elderly woman who had a heart for evangelism and revival. She asked me to pray for the city of Winnipeg and for revival. Well, that's something very close to my own heart!

As I prayed with her, she was overcome during prayer and fell back into one of the chairs. It was a powerful moment of ministry. She shared that she was also involved in evangelism, and we exchanged contact information.

The following day, I felt led to contact her and invite her out for lunch so I could encourage her further in the Lord. She was very grateful, and we had a wonderful time together. I also had another opportunity to pray with her. What started as a conversation after church became a continuing connection in ministry!

Never Miss an Opportunity to Minister

As I thought about everything that happened that Sunday, I was reminded of something my pastor once said to me:

“Church is like a hospital for the sick.”

And that includes people who need help physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually. We don't want people to remain in that place when Jesus has provided salvation, healing, freedom, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. That's why I believe we should always be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, even after a church service has officially ended.

People don't suddenly stop needing prayer because the final song has finished! The pastor may not have known what opportunities would open up after the service, but the Lord did.

And I am so grateful that I was invitied and given the opportunity to minister. What if I had simply thanked everyone, gathered my things, and walked out? I would have missed those precious opportunities to pray for a family, minister the baptism in the Holy Spirit, encourage someone with a heart for revival, and begin a new friendship.

Jesus said: “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.” (Mark 16:17 )

That's what I love about being led by the Holy Spirit. We never know what the Lord has planned, but when we make ourselves available, He can use us wherever we are.

The service may have ended, but the Holy Spirit was still ministering to people!

TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!
